The foamed sandwich structure is a layered composite structure composed of a panel (skin) and a lightweight foam core material: the panels are mostly aluminum sheets, carbon fibers, glass fibers, and aramid composite sheets.
The foam panels l is mainly foam plastic: the foam sandwich structure is characterized by high bending rigidity, light weight, and sufficient material strength. The performance of the foam sandwich structure depends on the panel material and the foam core panels . Generally, the mechanical properties of the rigid foam sandwich structure are superior. There are two main methods for manufacturing the foam sandwich structure: one is to first make the foam core and then form the panel thereon ( The skin is made of a panel (skinned) and then swept in a space surrounded by it. The thermosetting foam is first foamed into a billet, and then the billet is again heated and foamed. The foam sandwich groove can be used as the rudder surface of the aircraft, the hatch, the rotor of the helicopter, and the like. It can also be used as other civil aspects such as sound insulation, heat insulation, and shock absorbing members. The rigid foam sandwich structure is mostly load-bearing: the flexible foam sandwich structure is subjected to large deformation and is suitable for shock absorption.
